At the Delta of Niger River in Nigeria, where a vast proportion of planet’s oil is excavated, bomb attacks, abductions and murders form part of daily routine. The documentary portrays the image of “development”, the way giant multinational petroleum companies would define it. Petroleum leaks in the River destroy flora and fauna, poison the food chain and consequently wipe out the 27 million indigenous people of the area – the Ijaws, the Ogoni and the Itsekiris. The inhabitants dare to ask the self-evident, they demand an end to it. As a response they are massively and brutally attacked by special forces of the army and the police, which are armed by the oil companies. The camera meets at the river militia of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta-MEND- and presents to the world for the first time shattering images of their speed boat patrols and of their heavy weaponry. The Delta of Niger is a lost paradise. As the documentary reveals, it is a place where despite the natural beauty, contemporary “globalized” hell prevails. 67 MINUTES, AVAILABLE VERSIONS: Greek, English, French. Massive oil has been found in Imo and and Anambra. Let others fight their fight alone and Igbos should do likewise.

@Okoroman You fool, only Hausa-fulani??? You must be deluded. what about the Igbo and Niger delta, Ibori, Ignendion and all the other South east politicians, how have they made the lives of us better. This corruption is within most of Nigerian leaders regardless of whether they are Igbo or Hausa. People like you are the problem of Nigeria. Fight all corrupt politician not just a few. Idiot!!!

  11. Okoroman 26th January 2012 at 10:56 am

Fact: Hausa-fulani and Yoruba oligarchs ruled & mismanaged Nigeria for over 40 yrs, looted over $400 billion dollars from resources of Niger Delta Eastern Region Biafra & Mid-Western nationalities, rigged all elections, refused a Sovereign National Conference, subverted justice, promoted criminality of sorts across the geospace Nigeria, and abused “Nigerians”. The problem of the Niger delta is not a development problem; It is a JUSTICE problem. The people need and demand their FREEDOM back

the people of the western world even africans living there are so ignorant apart from their government and their rich oil companies. BP wants to buy Shell or they want to join force. I pity for BP(British Petroleum), the way people hate Shell in africa, the arab world because the way they take oil by using the government against its own people.
